Daniel Barcay is a technologist, researcher, and writer whose work examines how artificial intelligence is reshaping human relationships, institutions, and our shared understanding of reality. Formerly Executive Director of the Center for Humane Technology, he has held leadership roles across technology, finance, and the space industry. His current work brings technical insight into dialogue with philosophy, culture, and the human sciences.
During his residency in Paris, Barcay developed a series of essays and conversations exploring how AI is transforming human relationships, institutional trust, and our collective ability to make sense of the world. He took part in VivaTech 2026 and in What Remains, a KADIST event at the Cité internationale des arts examining the frontier between artificial intelligence and human sensibility - and asking whether AI can do more than process affection: whether it can generate, capture, or meaningfully reflect it. He spoke to Philosophie Magazine, Usbek & Rica and various podcast hosts.
