Anika, born Annika Henderson, is a British musician, singer, composer, and former political journalist whose unmistakable voice and uncompromising artistic vision have made her one of the most singular figures in contemporary music. Blending post-punk, dub, experimental electronics, and new wave, she creates work that is at once haunting, political, and deeply personal. Her practice moves freely across music, performance, film, and visual art, embracing experimentation and unexpected collaboration.
At Résidence Tallard, Anika joined filmmaker Jim Jarmusch for a creative residency at the intersection of music and cinema. Their collaboration contributed to the finalizing of the score and atmospheric sound world of Father Mother Sister Brother, developed through improvisations in Berlin, New York, and Paris. Final creative work took place during the Paris residency, including the track Paris Bleu, and culminated in an intimate salon with Jarmusch and invited guests.
