The Project

A Space for Dialogue and Societal Impact

Nestled within Hôtel Tallard, an 18th-century historic monument, Résidence Tallard is a space dedicated to ideas, dialogue, and intellectual exchange. Recently restored by architect Lina Ghotmeh, the apartment blends heritage with modernity, offering a serene setting conducive to research, discussion, and collaboration.

A Laboratory for Ideas and Encounters

Each year, the residency welcomes four to six leading thinkers, writers, researchers, and influential figures from around the world for immersive stays lasting two to four weeks. Acting as a cultural bridge, Résidence Tallard fosters connections between these international guests and key intellectual, academic, and creative voices in France. This vibrant exchange across disciplines, cultures, and worldviews aims to amplify diverse perspectives and establish them within France’s intellectual and cultural landscape.

An Ambitious Public Program

To extend the residents’ ideas and work beyond specialized circles, the residency develops a dynamic program in partnership with renowned cultural institutions, festivals, and schools across Île-de-France.

Each residency is tailored to individual needs and is structured around four key moments:

  • An inaugural gathering - a warm and informal event in the apartment, introducing residents to a network of Parisian intellectuals and creatives.

  • A major public event, free or accessible at a symbolic price, providing a platform to share and debate the residents’ work.

  • A school intervention, designed around the resident’s expertise, fostering knowledge exchange and engagement with younger generations.

  • A closing gathering, open and convivial, offering a space for reflection on the work accomplished and potential future collaborations.

  • Media Portrait, each residency leaves a mark in the form of a long interview and a short series for social media.
